The Announcer is a character featured in all multi players Counter-Strike series (except Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes)

Overview

The Announcer is a voice in the background of every Counter-Strike match.His voice files have not changed since 1.6, and sound of American descent who speak via radio. He speaks in Bomb defusal scenario when upon the bomb being planted/defused, in Hostage rescue mode, informs about hostages status and in Assassination before round starts say "Protect VIP Team",but when VIP reach escape zone will say "VIP has been rescued" and at round end speak what team win.

In Counter-Strike: Source Announcer is bit different, eg. in Hostage rescue mode when the last hostage is rescued, the Announcer will say "Counter-Terrorists win" instead of "Hostages have been rescued" and when the C4 is defused in Bomb defusal scenario, an Announcer will say "Bomb has been defused" rather than "Counter-Terrorists win".

In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Announcer speaks only in Classic Casual, Competitive and Demolition. In following game modes, speaks when time of match ends.

Behind the scenes

  • Global Offensive's map sound manifests suggesting, announcer also inform player about exclusive carrying equipment eg. "You have bomb"[1], "You have defuse kit"[2].
