The Automatic Medical Kit or simply Medkit is a wall-attached device that restores health to its users.
Overview[]
The medkit can be used by walking up to it, pressing and holding the USE key. The user's health will recover gradually until they are at full health or until the kit is depleted. Once the light goes out, a medkit cannot be reused until it recharges, which takes 60 seconds after depletion. Each charge is capable of restoring up to 50 health points and medkits can be used by multiple players.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Automatic Medical Kit is a brush entity, shared throughout the GoldSrc games.
- As such, it only can only be placed during map creation.
- Counter-Strike: Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes overrides its brush entity with that of the Wall attached medkit. As such, their share the same behavior which is to restore 50 health points in one use.
- Despite having difficulty scaling health values throughout the GoldSrc games, Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Condition Zero ignore them as even the single player sessions in these games follow the multiplayer entity rules of the engine.[2]
- They are also ignored in Counter-Strike: Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes as the health restoring value of the Wall attached medkit is hard coded.[3]
