Mission Notes[]

  • If the player is spotted by the Terrorist armed with the M72 LAW outside the main compound, the mission will fail.
  • When using the RC bombs, beware of nearby allies and try to lead them away from the area before detonating them.
  • The commander and the operative are unlikely to be killed, so the primary focus should be survival and defending the hostages. Don't let them to engage all enemies by themselves however, as they're not invincible.
  • If the officer dies in the beginning, the mission will not automatically fail, as the player still has time to meet the others.
  • After landing, watch out for land mines as they will immediately kill the player on contact.
  • The locked door from the beginning can be opened by shooting the lock, allowing the player to let the officer to proceed. However, as he is not supposed to continue after this point the officer will die with one shot.
  • While attacking the Terrorist with the LAW inside the compound, try to avoid unnecessary damage by using the HE grenade or smoke grenade.

Trivia[]

  • Three individual maps are used in this mission.
  • This mission is one of two missions to contain Land Mines, the other being Downed Pilot.
  • The rain sprite in this mission is used in the Condition Zero version of Aztec.
  • The guard at the main compound is not visible from the outside, so using the notarget console command will not work. As such, this will cause a mission failure if the player rushes in even with "notarget".
    • Notably, the guard is able to fire his weapon in quick succession, lacking the long delay present on most enemies.
  • This is the only mission in which the US Navy Seals are wearing jungle uniforms.
  • The Condition Zero cut map Junglecamp is based on this mission.
  • It was reported that this mission was inspired by the movie Predator.
  • It is stated that the mission takes place in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. However, the mission apparently takes place in a remote jungle compound that's obviously nowhere near Bogota, a fact that many Colombians who played the game have pointed out.
  • While the missions in the game aren't connected as a story (not officially, at least), it's possible that some of them are connected to each other. Since this mission takes place before Turn Of The Crank, and in both, the enemies are members of Guerilla Warfare, and the main objective revolves around cocaine production/distribution, "one of the biggest Colombian drug czars" that the officer mentions at the beginning of the mission may or may not be Moses Sepulveda.
  • Martin, the unfortunate (and stupid) operative, is the first to die (because of a script).
  • If the officer at the start goes on a Land Mine, the Land Mine will not explode.
