With its curved blade mimicking a tiger's claw, the karambit was developed as part of the southeast Asian martial discipline of silat. The knife is typically used with a reverse grip, with the finger ring on the index finger.
―Official description

The Karambit (also known as Kerambit) is a cosmetic knife available to players in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive & Counter-Strike 2, and is a rare special (★) item. There is, however, a Karambit duplicated by Steam Support that has no float and is also not classified as a rare special (★) item. The Karambit was introduced in Arms Deal finishes on August 14, 2013 in the Arms Deal Update.

Overview[]

The Karambit is cosmetic only, and shares the same performance as the default knife.

Trivia[]

  • The design of the knife is based on the real life United Cutlery Honshu Karambit.
  • While the Karambit's view model shows the knife being held in a traditional grip, when viewed from its world model, the knife appears to be held in a more contemporary "pistol-grip" style.
  • The World Model is designed particularly so the knife doesn't stick out farther than the traditional Player World Model and stick out around corners farther than anyone else.
  • Arguably, the Karambit is one of the most sought-out and expensive knives in the Global Offensive player community due to its sleek design and flashy animations.
