This article is about the (civilian) medkit that is often found on the ground. For the variant attached on a wall; see Wall attached medkit
Counter-Strike & Condition ZeroEdit
No medkits appear in any of the official maps. However, they can be spawned using console commands and can be placed on custom maps. These are available due to the caching of the default GoldSrc elements from the original Half-Life, and share the same mechanics as the batteries and HEV suit charger.
An unused medkit viewmodel can be found in the Deleted Scenes files files, using a purple colored C-4. It is probably a placeholder. This also indicates that the player was originally able to pick medkits and use them whenever he wanted to.
The medkit can be found in-game as props that can be picked up to restore lost health. In each difficulty, the medkit heals a different amount of health:
- Restores 25 health points on the Easy difficulty.
- Restores 20 health points on the Medium difficulty.
- Restores 15 health points on the Hard difficulty.
They provide less health and the heal points depends on the difficulty but it more common than the wall attached ones. The player will automatically pick up a kit once stepped on. This is beneficial for the player if he has low health and does not have sufficient time to press the "USE" key to retrieve a kit.
