Entity name weapon_tac21


The TAC-21 is an unreleased bolt action sniper rifle added in the October 22, 2014 update to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game files.[1].

  • Added at first in October 22, 2014 update mentions to the weapons are two firing sounds and later removed from Inferno's and Mirage's sound manifests.

  • In the January 20, 2016 update was added references to the resource file[2] and removed once more in the January 27, 2016 update.Resource files indicate the weapon is still in development as information regarding inspection animation appeared.

  • The May 31, 2016 update added sounds references again in server and client related files with 2 short lines: "Weapon_Tac21.BoltInterruptFail" and "Weapon_Tac21.BoltInterruptSuccess".
  • The June 15, 2016 update brought more weapon sound references and same sound manifest was referred for the first time, revealing the ability to be silenced, moreover sounds structures files is similar to CT's AUG and T's SG 553. All sound references was removed from sound manifest a day later in the June 16, 2016 update.
